The High Court has granted six-week anticipatory bail to actress Shabnam Faria in a money laundering case filed by e-commerce company Evali. He has been asked to consider bail if he surrenders to the lower court after 6 weeks.
Monday (December 13) Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim and Justice. The High Court bench of Atowar Rahman passed the order.
Senior advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, advocate Z I Khan Panna and advocate Jasmine Sultana appeared for Shabnam Faria in the court.
Earlier, he appeared in the court after 3 pm to seek anticipatory bail in the case.
On December 4, a case was filed against nine people, including Tahsan Khan, Rafiat Rashid Mithila and Shabnam Faria, for embezzling money on behalf of e-commerce company Evali. Saad Sam Rahman, a customer of Evali, filed a case with Dhanmondi Police Station. Evali MD Mohammad Russell and chairman Shamima Nasrin have also been charged in the case.
Dhanmondi Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ikram Ali Mia said Evali MD Mohammad Russell and chairman Shamima Nasrin had been arrested in the case.
After filing the case, the OC said that the plaintiff in the case alleged that the accused had helped him to embezzle 3 lakh 16 thousand rupees. He has not yet recovered his money. So he was forced to sue.
